Art Trams

Das Transportation Art Projekt gab es bereits von 1987 bis 1993 und wurde vor 5 Jahren reaktiviert. Von Oktober 2017 bis April 2018 fahren deshalb 8 Trams gestaltet von unterschiedlichen Künstlern durch Melbourne https://2017.festival.melbourne/events/melbourne-art-trams

Wir waren mit der Tram 5002 unterwegs. Dir hätte das Projekt auch sehr gefallen, liebe Uschi (happy birthday!) Hier die Erläuterung des Künstlers https://2017.festival.melbourne/events/melbourne-art-trams/artist-statements/: St Albans Heights Primary School’s Community Hub came together to collectively develop the design for this artwork. Families observed similarities between the school community and the wider Melbourne community that they wanted to capture: that Melbourne is proudly diverse. The portraits are true mirrors of the Melbourne community and express its diversity of age, gender, cultural heritage, language and beliefs. The faces are left blank so that the portraits aren’t defined by skin colour and Melburnians can imagine themselves depicted on the tram. The coloured squares were inspired by Andy Warhol’s pop art which captures playfulness, diversity and inspires imagination, just like the school.

Damit soll es dann aber auch gewesen sein mit "Kunst in Melbourne" - und wir hatten nicht einmal annähernd ausreichend Zeit dafür...
